This statement, extracted from a conversation with Dr. Whithers earlier today, succinctly sums up the diversity of factors, individual and circumstantial, that lead people to call the streets their home. In the coming months, these survivors, some veterans, some addicts and some the provider of their families, will become my center. I hope to connect to these individuals in ways that empower all involved. Empower those in need to seek what they deserve whether it be sobriety, housing or basic medical care. Empower me to be the one who commits, who does something. I suspect that outreach will be my biggest challenge in heart and skill but, but I cannot wait.
More to come about adventures, crosses and stories galore!
